Integrating Risk, Governance and Strategy

It’s a risky world out there. Loss of a major funder, inappropriate or unethical behavior by a staff member, a technology “crash” or a hack of your online systems or extreme weather events. These and a host of other scenarios hold the potential to put the function and future of a nonprofit organization into serious jeopardy. The March First Mondays topic will present an overview of a process to help your organization assess potential risks, integrate risk management into your strategy development and implementation, and create a governance structure to position your organization to avoid threats where possible, and manage through them if a crisis occurs.

Our presenters for this program will be:

  • Dr. Lewis Atkinson leads the Haines Center for Strategic Management in Australia. Lewé is a natural systems thinker and architect of strategic change. He holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering and a Masters of Business Administration.
  • Kerrin Anderson is a lawyer with more than 25 years of experience working with public sector and nonprofits organizations. She is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and recently completed an in-depth program on Risk Management for Corporate Leaders at the Harvard Business School.  Kerrin holds a Certificate in Governance and Risk Management from the Governance Institute of Australia.

As a benefit of membership, ASP members can attend First Mondays for free. Registration is required.
