Enterprise Strategy Drives Portfolio Strategy - this is not new.  However, with the rapid growth of Agile at Scale in the marketplace, new perspectives and approaches need to be considered when formulating your Enterprise Strategy. 

Join us and learn how to translate Enterprise Strategies into ‘Strategic Themes’ that directly connect, influence and drive the solution portfolios to be executed. We will discuss the concepts of Value Streams, Portfolio Canvas creation, SAFe® Portfolios, Portfolio Backlogs & Kanban, Fast Feedback, and how you can use them to succeed.

We will start with an introduction to the Scaled Agile Framework® (SAFe®) to lay the foundation, then quickly shift focus to Strategy Formulation and Themes.

About Owen McGovern

Owen McGovern is the Managing Partner of Plan for Excellence, Inc. and former President/CEO of Integrated Technology Group, Inc. He works with companies to develop and execute business plans, strategies and major initiatives.  With over 30 years in consulting, he has performed planning across all business functions and has created strategic and tactical plans at all levels. His past clients include Walgreens, OfficeMax, Commonwealth Edison, Vienna Beef, Uline, Office Depot, Culligan, Oracle and dozens more.

Additionally, Owen has spent 14 years as an Adjunct Faculty member of DePaul University’s Kellstadt Graduate School of Management and Management Development Center teaching Strategic Planning, Project Management, Business Process Design, and Operations Management subjects to adult MBA candidates and to Certificate Program students. 

Owen is a SAFe Certified Program Consultant SPC, a PMP, and has 25 years of Certification by APICS. He has his BSC in Marketing from DePaul University and an MBA from Keller GSM. He is the current president of the Association for Strategic Planning (ASP) – Chicago, and is on PMI Chicago’s Executive Council.
