Do you know the facts below?

  • “30% of managers cite failure to coordinate across units as their greatest challenge to executing their company’s strategy.” [Harvard Business Review]
  •  “Only 9% of companies are rated excellent at execution.” [Harvard Business Review]
  • “70% of strategic failures are due to poor execution of leadership.” [Ram Charan, Execution: The Discipline of Getting Things Done]
  • “Only 47% of the leaders believe their organization is good at implementing strategy.”  [Excellence in Execution: How to Implement Your Strategy by Robin Speculand, Strategy Implementation Survey]

We all know the routine.  Leadership teams come together on a periodic basis to formulate strategy, then armed with good intentions, ask their business units, functional teams and PMOs to work together to execute the initiatives the leadership team has chosen. Unfortunately, all too often a gap in understanding and performance occurs for those charged with implementing the initiatives flowing from the strategy.  This gap invariably translates into unwanted costs, lost opportunities and ultimately failure to execute. When a failure at execution occurs, the lost value resulting is highly significant regardless of sector.

If your team is struggling with execution, join Randall Rollinson, Past-President, Chicago Chapter, Association for Strategic Planning, and President, LBL Strategies for a one-hour webinar that will address the reasons why the strategy execution gap persists, and what organizations can do to mitigate the gap through the following topics:

          • Communication of strategy
          • Creation of a team-based performance culture
          • Alignment across and down through the team
          • The important role of leaders and middle managers
          • Incorporation of agility into strategy execution
