Demonstrating the effectiveness of program delivery increasingly requires programme managers to focus on reporting outcome results, not outputs. This new norm requires programme managers to shift mindsets and learn or improve skills in developing, applying and using outcome indicators to manage their programmes. While some managers have mastered the new skills, others still have work to do.

The August Webinar Wednesday presented by ASP’s Nonprofit Center for Excellence will discuss the shift to this new norm, and the identification, definition, and use of outcome indicators to support accountability, learning and adaptation. During the session presenter Charles Katende will provide insights and examples from his experience working with colleagues around the world to develop and implement both outcome and impact indicators for the United Nations Population Fund. In this session you will:

  • Gain understanding of the need for prioritizing outcome indicators in programme performance frameworks.
  • Gain insight into approaches to defining and using programme outcome indicators, as well as the challenges of doing this work.
