Crowdsourcing the Conference

This fast-paced and engaging session opens the conference “floor” to you and your fellow strategists. We want to hear from you—what did you learn? What don’t we know about strategic planning in a business ecosystem?

Small group discussion will identify the top ideas and approaches presented at the conference that you’re planning to take home and put to work. Perhaps more importantly, this session will seek your input about the unanswered questions--what topics, issues and questions about planning within and across a business ecosystem need further exploration and study? Where do we go from here?

Lynne Brown brings more than 25 years of experience to her role as Vice President of Strategic Consulting at iBossWell, Inc. Since joining the company seven year ago Lynne has assisted a diverse list of clients in the non-profit sector to develop and prepare to implement their strategic plans, and to enhance the capacity of their boards and staff to achieve high performance. Her clients have included local and national nonprofit organizations working in health care, human services, education, and the arts, government agencies, and trade associations. 

Lynne began her career working on the staff of non-profit health care organizations where she gained front line experience in fund-raising, lobbying, member and community relations, as well as the art and science of working with board committees and volunteers. Her nonprofit experience includes time as both a nonprofit staff member and in executive leadership. Some of her greatest insights, though, come from her extensive experience as a nonprofit volunteer, as a board member, and as a board leader. She recently joined the board of directors for Nonprofit Connect in Kansas City. She is currently co-chair of the Fund Development Committee for the Johnson County Library Foundation and also serves on the Executive Committee. She is a co-chair of the Nonprofit Center for Excellence, a community of practice within the Association for Strategic Planning (ASP) and has been instrumental in planning and facilitating the Center’s monthly First Mondays webinars. She recently was appointed co-chair of ASP’s 2019 International Conference.  She received ASP’s Distinguished Member award in 2014.  Lynne is a graduate of the University of Kansas and holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism.  


Dan Montgomery, SMP, is Co-Chair of this year’s ASP Conference. He is the Founder and Managing Director of Agile Strategies, bringing the best of Silicon Valley business culture to the world of strategic planning. He has brought the practice of OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) to clients in a variety of sectors including banking, investment, retail, manufacturing, non-profits, hospitality and government.

His latest book, Start Less, Finish More: Building Strategic Agility with Objectives and Key Results was published in September 2018. Prior to founding Agile Strategies, Dan worked for Accenture, Ernst & Young and the Balanced Scorecard Institute, leading BSI’s consulting practice. Dan and his wife Beth live in Louisville, Colorado.
